Аннотация
The article traces the history of the periodic table from Lavoisier's 1789 classification of 33 elements through the development of various organizing systems by Prout, Döbereiner, Chancourtois, Newlands, Odling, and Meyer. The work centers on Dmitri Mendeleev's creation of the periodic table in 1869, which uniquely predicted properties of undiscovered elements. The article examines how Mendeleev's table became the most widely adopted system and discusses the various modern versions of the periodic table used today.
